We are looking for a skilled and dependable Rigger to join our team. The Rigger will be responsible for safely preparing, securing, lifting, moving, and positioning heavy equipment, machinery, materials, and structural components using cranes, hoists, and other lifting equipment.
Responsibilities
Inspect and prepare rigging equipment before each lift
Select and properly use slings, chains, shackles, spreader bars, and other rigging equipment
Safely attach and secure loads for lifting and movement
Direct crane and equipment operators using standard hand signals and radio communication
Calculate load weights, lifting capacities, and center of gravity when required
Assist with setting, positioning, and aligning heavy equipment and materials
Guide suspended loads and ensure safe clearance during lifts
Perform basic equipment and rigging inspections
Identify potential hazards and communicate safety concerns to supervisors
Follow all OSHA, company, and site-specific safety procedures
Maintain proper housekeeping around work areas
Assist with equipment installation, dismantling, and relocation as needed
Work closely with crane operators, millwrights, ironworkers, and other trades
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Rigger or in heavy lifting operations
Knowledge of rigging techniques and safe lifting practices
Ability to properly inspect and use rigging equipment
Familiarity with cranes, hoists, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment
Ability to read and understand lift plans and basic drawings
Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures
Ability to communicate effectively with crane operators and crew members
Physically capable of working outdoors and handling heavy equipment
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Ability to work at heights when required
Pay rate: $24 to $28 an hour. Based on experience.
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 7 am to 5:30 pm.
