Not sure if this is Art Deco or Mid Century.
Evidently, this is only half or one third of its original size. (52.5" x 39.5" or 79.5" x 39.5") The original size would have been good for a room volume of 100,000 or 150,000 cubic feet. Large spaces have more than one input, return. If a pair of 52.5" x 39.5", we are in theatre territory. This grill could have been rescued from a demolished old theater like The Venetian (36th & Center St.).
This is not cast. It is made of brass strips assembled with brass rivets.
