Hens hatched on 10/31/2025 $35. I guess it's an Orpington mix, about 1-1.5 years old. $35 for a black hen. $40 for a grey one.
Fresh eggs laid by chickens. $10 a dozen
Wonderful pomegranate cuttings. 3 6" long for $10. They root easily.
Chicken manure in double plastic bags, about 4 gal.
I sometimes go to S.F. in Sunset, Richmond & Mission, or San Mateo at 4th Avenue & San Mateo Avenue if you'd like me to meet you there.
How do I compost the manure? It fertilizes the fruit tree but also makes composted manure for vegetables. The fruit trees produce an abundance of crops, but also compost the manure after a few months, like black soil for vegetables at the same time. I sometimes sprinkle "light", fresh, uncomposted manure for vegetables. The crops must be fully washed before cooking it.
I dump 10-15 lbs of coffee grounds from Starbucks or Pete's Coffee over a bucket of manure under a "large mature fruit tree". It must be a large and mature tree. Otherwise, it may kill or burn the tree roots. I water it. After a few months, the manure looks like black dirt. I put it on the concrete floor when it reaches 90- 100 degrees to kill pill bugs for a few days. The manure is ready to be used for vegetables.
