Built to ride over anything at the time, the Maverick ML-7 American was a pioneer. (Sold for over $5000 new in 2004.)
This frame and fork set is a collector's item, especially this model, with the upside down forks. I can't find any others like it.
Engraved 'Mega' on the Head tube emblem. (All Mavericks have a name engraved on them.)
Great bike for a modern conversion project. Or ride her as-is, after tune up.
It has been stored in Mill Valley for over 20 years. A real gem.
***Dropper post needs attention ...of course.

The ML7 incorporates Maverick American's Mono-Link Suspension System to provide the ultimate riding experience. The Mono-Link's linear wheel path moves the rear wheel in the same direction as the impact, resulting in more effective shock absorption. Other suspension systems move the rear wheel opposite to the impact so the force is transferred to the bike and rider. The distance between the axle and cranks hardly changes through the Mono-link's suspension travel so it is not affected by chain torque. Both frames use a cast magnesium box section design for the suspension link riding on sealed cartridge bearings.
Shocks: M-Bits / Maverick American.
• 100mm travel.
• Very rigid, custom Easton tubing mix, integrated headset, disc brake only.
