Madrona Bakery is looking for a talented barista who's passionate about specialty coffee and wants to help us build an elevated coffee program that complements our technique-driven pastry and bread.

**The role**
As our barista, you'll deliver excellent drinks and warm hospitality to every guest. You love specialty coffee and are generous about sharing what you know with guests and teammates. You're comfortable working independently, keep your cool during rushes, and keep service moving. You're open to learning our drink recipes and excited to help us keep improving our beverage offerings.
**What you'll do**
*Craft*
Prepare high-quality espresso, coffee, and tea drinks following our recipes
Steam milk and build drinks with care and consistency
Apply extraction principles to dial in espresso throughout the day
Taste drinks regularly to keep flavor consistent from open to close
Keep learning about coffee and growing your knowledge
*Hospitality*
Offer mindful, detail-oriented hospitality to every guest
Communicate kindly and clearly with guests and teammates
Know our full lineup of pastries and breads well enough to guide guests
Be welcoming to everyone, and be yourself
*Operations*
Keep your station and equipment clean, tidy, and good-looking at all times
Work with management to keep coffee equipment cleaned and serviced regularly
Follow opening and closing procedures, including locks and the alarm system
Follow health department requirements
Support your teammates and work together as a team
Maintain a professional appearance and hygiene standards
**What you'll need**
At least one year of barista experience with specialty coffee in a cafe or bakery
Strong knowledge of coffee and tea, and experience with espresso, pour-over, and batch brew in a busy cafe
Ability to communicate clearly with guests and teammates in English
Current ServSafe or equivalent food handler's certificate
Availability for early mornings, weekends, and holidays, with a commitment of 2–3 shifts per week
Ability to lift 40 lbs and handle repetitive bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting
Reliable commute to the bakery (or plans to relocate before starting)
A six-month to one-year commitment is preferred
Nice to have: latte art skills
