Responsibilities:
• Read blueprints
• Determine the appropriate method based on print and spec requirements
• Set up components for welding according to specifications.
• Operating grinders
• Measure and check parts using calipers, rulers etc.
• Visually inspect all welds (welds are die penetrant checked at minimal).
• Maintain a safe workspace.
Required Skills & Experience
• Extensive experience TIG welding of “High Temp” Alloys such as H-188 AMS-5608 / H-230 AMS- / L-605 AMS- / X-750
AMS-5542 / Hastelloy-X AMS-5536 and more in thicknesses of .015 to .375 thick
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and using protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
• Attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
• Ability to pass FPI and X-ray qualifications
• Welding certification preferred
Education:
• Preferred High School diploma or GED or equivalent courses and certifications.
Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, move throughout the facility, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and communicate. The employee must occasionally lift/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include exceptionally good vision (either natural or corrected); close vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and excellent hand/eye coordination. The noise level in the work environment may be loud; therefore, must be able to use the required PPE.
