Meet Indigo, our beautiful five-year-old Collabordoodle girl, born December 7th.
Indigo was born and raised here with us, and we have both of her parents. She is an incredibly loving family dog, wonderful with children, affectionate, eager to please, highly food motivated, and exceptionally quick to learn.
Temperamentally, I often compare her to a Border Collie. She is intelligent, energetic, and driven, although perhaps with the volume turned down just a little. She would thrive with an active person or family who wants a companion for hiking, running, exploring, and everyday adventures. She travels beautifully in the car and would happily go along for the ride.
She absolutely loves ball and Frisbee and would be thrilled to have someone who enjoys getting outside and engaging with her regularly. She is also house trained and crate trained.
I could also see her flourishing on a property with room to run, play, and enjoy an active outdoor life. Indigo needs an outlet for her energy, so we want to be thoughtful about finding a home that genuinely appreciates that part of who she is.
She has lived around many kinds of animals. She does beautifully with adult cats, poultry, goats, and horses, but she does have prey drive, so a home with kittens or rabbits would not be appropriate for her.
Indigo is still intact, but we are looking for a pet home only where she can simply be someone’s beloved family companion.
Our reason for placing Indigo is simply that we are intentionally reducing the size of our adult pack. As much as we love our dogs, we also recognize when one of them could receive more individual time, connection, and adventure in a home of her own.
We are asking a rehoming fee for Indigo. We are looking for a committed, thoughtful home and are not in a rush to place her.
