Beluga is a wonderful cruising ketch beautifully handcrafted to Lloyds of London standards and in very good condition, lovingly maintained by her experienced skipper since 2021.
The Swift 40 was designed and built to sail the world’s oceans in comfort and style.
The warm teak interior shows master craftmanship throughout and an ingenious layout, providing six-foot plus headroom throughout and the feel of a larger vessel. The joinery is second to none and many clever features make for a very comfortable arrangement below deck with spacious private cabins and heads both fore and aft. The opening ports throughout ensure ample ventilation on warmer days.
The center cockpit provides excellent visibility and a very dry ride. The wide, solid fiberglass decks are functional, strong, and maintenance-free. The ¾ keel, skeg-hung rudder, and ketch rig make for unbelievable sailing performance and stability for a cruising boat – she will surprise you with her ability to point, self-steer with the helm locked down, and her ability to make way in all conditions. The keel-stepped main and mizzen masts and internal lead ballast ensure additional structural integrity. This vessel is robustly built for cruising yet performs remarkably well and is a delight to sail.
Beluga has been a Bay area and SoCal boat and has never been cruised, meaning her structure is sound and dry and she has a lot of life left in her.
