Zinqué is a French-inspired restaurant, wine bar and café in Malibu
We’re looking for a host with a genuinely great personality—someone warm, quick, organized, and naturally good with people.
This is a busy restaurant, so the host stand can get intense. We need someone who can stay calm when there’s a wait, reservations are moving around, the phone is ringing and five people are asking questions at once—while still making every guest feel welcomed and taken care of.
Strong OpenTable experience is especially important. You should be very comfortable managing reservations, pacing the dining room, organizing the waitlist, communicating with the floor team and making smart decisions in real time.
We’re looking for someone who:
Has previous host or restaurant experience, ideally in a busy, high-volume environment
Is very comfortable with OpenTable
Is exceptionally friendly, polished and welcoming
Knows how to handle difficult or stressful situations without losing their cool
Can read a room, think ahead and solve problems quickly
Is organized and able to juggle multiple things at once
Communicates well with servers, managers and guests
Understands that hospitality starts the second someone walks through the door
Is reliable and available for a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings
Has or can obtain a California Food Handler Card
French is a plus
We care much more about energy, judgment and hospitality than scripted service.
