This is a full-on Windows 98 gaming rig. I'll leave a readout of the system specs from its asset tag at the bottom of this listing. It's a Pentium 4 2.40 GHz in an MSI motherboard, with an NVidia Quadro video card that's pretty great up to DirectX 8.1, with the P4 doing most of the heavy lifting in its role as a Win98 powerhouse. The robots told me that an ATi Radeon 9600 Pro would be a better pairing, but at that point you might as well just spring for an X800 PRO and a P4 3.0 or better system. The Quadro that's in here now is quite excellent for any DirectX 6.1 or 7.0a games. The Audigy was installed with Joseph_Joestar's drivers in VxD mode, and I applied a Roland SC soundfont.
The case is the standout piece of this system by far; it's a former Supermicro ATX chassis that housed an Albatron K8X800 PRO II motherboard. It's ungodly tall. I put it to the stick (my original Auburndale State Bank 75th Anniversary yardstick from 1985) and found it's a little over 26" tall. I've added a wild "ergonomic" keyboard from Logitech and a WYSE-branded optical mouse to this setup--both are PS/2. Yes, optical PS/2! Also threw in a generic Dell VGA-only LCD. It allows you to view the video output.
It's available for showings from 5:30 PM to 8 PM Monday through Friday, or 11 AM to 8 PM on most Saturdays and Sundays; we'll communicate through CL email to find an agreeable date/time. If you don't care to see the computer running before buying it, or don't feel comfortable coming to my house, we can meet at the Madison Police Department's station on Mineral Point Road. On the other hand, if you want to see the computer running first, you can come to my house and we'll run some benchmarks in my kitchen where it's currently setup.
