It doesn’t look pretty now but with a little TLC it could be a very nice box. It’s quite heavy and solid wood. Just needs some work on the hinges and refinishing of the wood and it would be a nice toy box/tool box/ clothing whatever. The discoloration is due to having had plants on top of it but there is no rotting wood.
