Interested in learning how to DJ?
I offer private, one-on-one DJ lessons for beginners looking to learn the fundamentals in a hands-on and approachable environment. Private lessons are available by appointment on an ongoing basis. Scheduling is flexible based on availability.
I'm S.DOT, a professional Los Angeles-based DJ with experience performing for private events, hospitality venues, corporate clients and major brands. My lessons focus on developing practical DJ skills while also helping students understand music selection, set building and the creative side of DJing.
Beginner lessons can cover:
• DJ equipment and setup fundamentals
• Understanding decks, mixers and controllers
• Cueing and basic beatmatching
• BPM, song structure and phrasing
• EQ and transitions
• Music selection and playlist preparation
• Building energy and sequencing songs
• Preparing and performing your first short DJ set
Lessons are customized around each student's experience, goals and pace. No previous DJ experience is required.
PRIVATE MOBILE DJ INSTRUCTION
Single 60-minute lesson — $150
3-Lesson Package — $400
4-Lesson Beginner Program — $500
Mobile lessons are available throughout select areas of Los Angeles. Students can learn using their own DJ setup, and equipment options can be discussed if needed.
Youth and adult students are welcome. For younger students, lessons are structured to provide an engaging introduction to DJing, music and creative expression.
