Park My Ride (PMR), a growing mobility technology startup based in San Diego, is looking for an experienced **Full Stack Developer with 4+ years of professional experience** to join our team as a technical partner.
We're building an AI-powered event parking and valet marketplace designed to transform how fans park at sporting events, concerts, and other major venues. We're looking for someone who wants more than a traditional developer job — someone ready to take ownership, help shape the technology, and grow with the company.
## About the Opportunity
PMR is developing a technology platform connecting customers, valet attendants, and drivers through mobile applications, real-time logistics, payment processing, and a scalable backend infrastructure.
We're looking for a technically strong, entrepreneurial developer who can contribute to architecture, product development, infrastructure, and long-term technical strategy. You'll work directly with the founder and have an opportunity to earn equity as a technical partner.
## Technical Skills & Experience
**Backend & API Development**
- 4+ years of professional full-stack software development experience.
- Strong Python and Django experience, preferably Django 5 and Django REST Framework (DRF).
- Experience building scalable APIs, authentication systems, and complex business logic.
- PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery, asynchronous processing, and WebSockets for real-time operations.
- Experience with payment integrations, particularly Stripe Connect, identity verification, payouts, and webhooks.
**Frontend & Mobile Development**
- Experience with React, Next.js, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Mobile development experience with React Native and/or native iOS development using SwiftUI.
- Experience building customer-facing applications, operational dashboards, and real-time interfaces.
- Mobile testing and release automation using tools such as Detox, XCUITest, and Fastlane.
**DevOps, Infrastructure & Systems**
- Docker, containerized services, reverse proxies, and production deployments.
- CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab CI, and Linux server administration.
- Experience with self-hosted infrastructure, multi-region deployments, networking, security, and cloud or distributed systems.
- Familiarity with Traefik, Cloudflare, Redis, authentication/SSO systems, and monitoring production services.
**Additional Valuable Experience**
- AI integrations, AI agents, and API gateway development.
- Maps, routing engines, geolocation, ETAs, and logistics optimization.
- SMS integrations such as Twilio and AWS SNS.
- Third-party API integrations, vehicle data services, and telephony systems.
- Automated testing, application security, and production troubleshooting.
You don't need experience with every technology listed. However, you should have strong full-stack fundamentals, proven experience shipping production software, and the ability to take ownership of complex technical projects.
## What You'll Do
- Build, maintain, and scale PMR's backend platform, web applications, and mobile applications.
- Improve real-time parking logistics, valet dispatching, vehicle tracking, and customer experiences.
- Develop payment systems, integrations, APIs, and operational tools.
- Help manage and improve our self-hosted infrastructure, deployments, security, and testing.
- Collaborate with the founder on product strategy, technical architecture, and development priorities.
- Take ownership of key technical decisions and help establish the engineering roadmap.
- Help prepare the platform for expansion into additional markets and major event venues.
