I'm 45 ,work full time as a landscaper, and would like to find a new living situation. For the last 10 years I've worked 2-3 days a week on a single large, 100 acre, property in Bonny Doon and am familiar with many of the ongoing maintenance issues on a large property with multiple houses. After going through the CZU fire I am very conscious of mitigating fire risk and much of the work I've done in Bonny Doon has been specifically about reducing risk from wildfires. Other than a tractor I have just about any tool needed for the job and in general I always prefer to use my own tools. I am accustomed to working alone but have no problem working with the property owner either. I'm fairly handy at diagnosing and repairing equipment. I do all my own vehicle repairs and have quite a few tools related to such work. I'm not an arborist but I do a fair amount of tree work--mostly pruning or removals. If I had to describe my work ethic I would say I'm a self-starter and I pace myself to keep going for how ever many hours the job is likely to take.
I'm not looking for much in terms of a place to live. In general all the things I enjoy doing in life take place outdoors. My only real requirements are a full kitchen and a functional bathroom with shower--I like to cook and I like to get clean at the end of the day. I'm only interested in a partial work trade because I like some variety in my work week and most of my clients have been with me for 6 years or more so I'm reluctant to part ways with people I've known for so long.
If you're looking for someone to help manage and maintain a large property I would be interested in meeting and talking with you. I am by no means in a desperate situation and not looking to get involved with sketchy people/situations. I don't do drugs and I prefer quiet to anything else. I currently live in Bonny Doon and it is wonderful refuge and escape from the madness of Santa Cruz.
