A major 3PL logistics company in Long Beach is seeking an experienced OS&D (Overage, Shortage & Damage) Specialist for an immediate full-time opportunity.
This is primarily an office-based position with occasional trips into the warehouse to verify cargo status, damages, shortages, or overages.
Manage overage, shortage, and damaged (OS&D) freight
Research and follow up on cargo discrepancies
Communicate with customers regarding damaged, missing, or excess freight
Perform system updates and maintain accurate shipment records
Update information within CLI and internal logistics systems
Document cargo status, damages, shortages, and resolutions
Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to research freight issues
Occasionally enter the warehouse to physically verify cargo status
Provide timely customer follow-up through email and phone
Maintain accurate documentation through resolution
Qualifications:
Previous logistics, freight, OS&D, shipping, or related experience required
Understanding of freight discrepancies, shortages, overages, and cargo damage
Basic Microsoft Office and Excel skills
Strong computer/data-entry skills
Strong written and verbal communication
Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up and organizational skills
Comfortable communicating directly with customers
Ability to work independently and manage multiple open issues
