Up for sale is a rare, excellent player’s instrument: a 1999 Jackson C4-P 4-string bass in classic Gloss Black.
This model was only produced for a very short window between 1998 and 2001 at the highly regarded Chushin Gakki factory in Japan. If you know old-school Jackson imports, you know the build quality, fretwork, and reliability out of this factory easily rival instruments twice the price.
It features an offset double-cutaway body, a fast bolt-on maple neck, and a full 24-fret rosewood fingerboard. It comes loaded with its original dual Duncan Design J-style single-coil pickups, giving it a punchy, aggressive tone that cuts beautifully through a mix—perfect for rock, metal, or studio work.
The bass is in good, solid structural shape and plays great. The neck is straight, the truss rod functions as it should, and the electronics are fully tested and working. As expected for an authentic 90s player's bass, there are some minor cosmetic surface scratches and small dings on the body from normal use, but nothing that affects playability or performance.
Great opportunity to grab a rare, high-quality Japanese-built Jackson before the Fender-era transition.
