Mauzy Properties manages about 1,264 rental homes and apartments across the Twin Cities metro. We're hiring a full-time maintenance technician to handle service calls and unit turns.
This is a W-2 job with benefits, a company vehicle, and a predictable schedule — not piecework, not 1099, not "we'll see how busy we get."
Pay: $24–34/hr, depending on experience
What the work actually is: Service calls at occupied units — plumbing repairs, electrical troubleshooting, appliance diagnosis, drywall and paint, door and lock work, basic HVAC triage. Unit turns between residents: punch list, repairs, paint, make-ready. You'll work off a dispatched queue, not a jobsite.
What we need:
You can diagnose before you replace. We'd rather you spend twenty minutes finding the actual problem than an hour installing a new part that didn't need installing.
Valid driver's license and a record that lets you drive a company vehicle.
Your own hand tools. We supply the specialty and power tools, the van, and the materials.
You can talk to a resident in their home like a professional, including when the answer is no.
Comfortable on a rotating on-call schedule.
What we don't need: a specific license, a degree, or ten years. If you've been framing houses, turning wrenches, running a service truck, or fixing things in the military and you learn fast, we'll talk.
Why people stay here: We're an owner-operated company, not a REIT. You'll know the person signing your check. We don't run techs into the ground with 14-stop days, and we don't dispatch you to a property and leave you to argue with a resident alone.
To apply:email us and tell us what you've fixed — a résumé is welcome but not required. We respond the same day.
