3 different speaker boxes to choose from
the speaker opening cutout on all of them I think is 11 inches, which is the standard for a 12in sub. But look up the specs on what you will be using because beefier subs might need slightly larger, especially many modern subs, so you may need to plan on enlarging the holes.
Ported boxes- Pros: more efficient meaning they are louder when using the same power and that you can get away with using less power. Generally play lower frequencies better. Move lots of air, good at filling big vehicles with bass. Sounds great with bass heavy music. Tend to be more forgiving with what subs they can work with. Cons: Bigger and take up more room. Response isn't smooth. Don't play higher frequencies as good.
Sealed boxes- Pros: Smooth accurate bass across most frequencies. More compact. Bass hits harder, really feel it in your chest, but doesn't travel as far, so good to have in smaller vehicles or when can be placed close to you. Sounds good with all genres. Cons: Require more power to get louder. Don't hit low notes as good. Need to be meticulous when installing speaker to make sure has a good seal with no air leaks. Less range in compatibility, air space has to fall in what the sub specs recommend.

Shared chamber. Roughly 2.7-2.8 cubic feet. And being a shared chamber, it also gives you the option of blocking off one of the speaker holes and using the whole air space for a single sub.
Pretty light weight and compact. Good option if you don't want to take up to much space and if you need to occasionally move it to access spare tire or just make more cargo room.

This is the only one I have actually personally used. Sounded amazing, even with low power old school subs
Was 2nd or 3rd box I've ever owned, and first one ever attempted to carpet. Didn't come out terrible, but just warning you to only expect as good as a 16y/o would do instead of expecting a pro finish with undetectable seams.
Front ports with each speaker getting its own individual chamber. So even if you only have one sub at the moment you can use just one chamber for now until you get a matching one.
