If you have ever used SGI equipment, or want to try, this is your chance to own a solid, working SGI Octane. It has a fresh IRIX 6.2 install on the 320 Gigabyte Ultra-SCSI drive, and I'll toss in a second 320G drive for you. It will run most LCD monitors. The Octane is quite a step up from an SGI Indy and a step up from an SGI O2.
These machines have a following, and there are user groups in the area. I've used Indys, O2s, and Octanes in my career at SGI and elsewhere.
Actually, I just sold this one, but have spare parts and expect to have another Octane running soon. And for the right price, might even sell the one I am using now, if I can get one of my O2's working. Spare parts include CPU cards, video cards, memory, extra drives, drive arrays, and can help you install IRIX 6.2 if you wish.
Why am I selling? I have other SGI equipment that I use, including Octanes, so this is a spare, and I really need the space for other projects.
I am open to trade, am looking for a working PiDP-10, some SCI cables that fit Octanes.
I drive from North Bay down the Peninsula to Saratoga once a month, can deliver, let you test it at your location, etc. Or we can meet in North Bay.
