I have for sale a Hammarlund HQ-170 Amateur Communication Receiver. The radio is 68 years old and working great.
Covers 160,80,20,15,10,6 meter amateur radio frequencies.
Has 17 tubes, 100 Khz Calibration, AVC with multiple settings, BFO control for SSB and code, AM, SSB, CW selectable, noise limiter, RF gain, bandwidth and numerous other control features.
I removed every tube in this radio (all 17) and all tested very good on my B/K DynaJet Tube Tester. I checked the power supply filter caps and found no problems with the power supply using an oscilloscope and precision digital voltage tester. All power supply voltages were correct. The bottom of the chassis and components are in excellent condition.
I cleaned the top of the chassis as it was stored and not used at all. Finally I cleaned the cabinet completely and it is good condition as is the front of the radio.
I connected the radio to an outside antenna and was able to receive code, International Broadcast and Amateur SSB radio signals on different frequencies.
The radio also includes the matching Hammarlund External Speaker Model S-200. I also include the original owners manual which shows in detail all of the controls, alignment info, etc. Includes a foldout schematic.
I would say the condition of the radio is good.
This is a vintage 1958 radio. Would make a nice collectible for someone and it still works great. Does NOT come with a guarantee or warranty.
This radio is heavy at 38 pounds. Size is 19"wide x 10 1/2" high and 12 1/2"Deep.
Selling for $65 cash only. Must pickup in Herkimer, NY. I am less than 1.5 miles from the NYS Thruway.
Shipping is not available due to size and weight.
