East Bay / Hayward Area
Starting pay: $25 per hour
30+ hours per week to start | Paid training | Real advancement path
Most people never hear about stack testing until they’re already looking for a better job. It’s a skilled trade that puts you on industrial sites, up stacks, and inside the process of measuring real emissions for regulatory compliance. You work with precision equipment, follow proven methods, and produce data that has to be right. It’s physical, technical, and outdoors — and once you know how to do it, the skill travels with you.
We are a boutique firm, not a large corporate testing shop. That means you won’t disappear into a big crew or wait years for someone to notice you. We train our people, put them on real projects, and advance those who show skill, ambition, and initiative. After a six-month probationary period, strong performers move up quickly.
What the work looks like
You’ll set up and run velocity, measurements & isokinetic sampling trains (Methods 1-4, 5/202 and related methods), traverse stacks, collect and process samples, calibrate equipment, document results accurately, and work safely in elevated and industrial environments. Some days are long. Some sites are demanding. The payoff is a real, portable skill and the satisfaction of doing work that matters.
Who we’re looking for
We prefer candidates with a college degree in environmental science, chemistry, engineering, or a related field, or military veterans. Degrees give technical grounding. Veterans often bring discipline, safety habits, and the ability to perform under pressure in a team. Either background or related work is a plus. What we actually need is reliability, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the drive to get better.
What you get
Paid training and full safety orientation from day one
Starting rate of $25 per hour
30 or more hours per week with the chance to grow
Rapid advancement after probation based on what you can do, not how long you’ve been here
Work with a small, experienced team where performance is visible and rewarded
A path into a specialized trade that isn’t easy to automate or outsource
Requirements
Valid driver’s license
Ability to pass a background check
Physical ability to perform field work (including climbing and working at heights) with proper training and PPE
Willingness to travel regionally as projects require (we operate primarily in the Bay Area but traveling California and the PNW is a possibility)
East Bay Area candidates preferred (we work out of the Hayward area)
If you want a job that teaches you a real skill, puts you in the field, and gives you a clear shot at advancement based on merit, this is worth a look. We’re not looking for perfect resumes — we’re looking for people who can learn, work hard, and take ownership for immediate starts.
Send your resume and a short note about why stack testing interests you.
We are an equal opportunity employer. This is an at-will position.
