We do air emissions testing out of California. Stacks, plants, landfills, power sites. I need a part-time tech who lives in the Fresno to Visalia area and can actually get themselves to the job.
Most of the work will be in the Bay Area. You will also be asked to support the outlying areas, and every so often travel will be involved.
No stack testing background required. We will train you on EPA Methods 1–5 and the district methods we use. What I cannot train is showing up on time, paying attention, and not being a problem on a client site.
You will help set up and tear down sampling gear, work under people who have been doing this a long time, write down numbers that have to be right, and take care of equipment and trucks. It is physical. Heat. Heights. Ladders, platforms, uneven ground. You need to lift and carry about 50 lbs without making it a discussion every morning.
You need your own transportation and have a valid California license. Sites are not on a bus line. Driving record has to be clean enough that we can get you through a plant gate.
This is safety-sensitive work. Plants have their own rules for who they let on site. If you cannot meet our requirements and the client’s — including fitness for duty for driving and working at height — you will not last in this seat.
High school diploma or GED. Any shop, chemistry, or environmental coursework is a plus. Mostly I need someone dependable who wants to learn a trade that still has to be done in person.
Pay starts at $25/hour. Training is paid. Overtime and travel pay when the work calls for it. If you are good, there is a way up and this job can easily become a career and is in high demand from coast to coast.
