Responsibilities
Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure comfort and hygiene.
Monitor patients’ health status by observing vital signs, mental state, and physical condition; report changes promptly to healthcare professionals.
Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance.
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area.
Use manual handling techniques and patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer belts to safely move clients.
Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, patient observations, and adherence to resident’s rights policies.
Provide transportation assistance for medical appointments, errands, or community outings to foster independence and social engagement.
Experience
Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental or intellectual disabilities support, or geriatrics is highly preferred.
Experience in group home settings, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health environments is advantageous.
Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and hospice care practices enhances your ability to deliver specialized support.
Familiarity with patient monitoring tools such as vital signs measurement and first aid/CPR certification is essential for ensuring safety.
Demonstrated ability to follow care plans meticulously while respecting resident’s rights and privacy under HIPAA guidelines.
Proven skills in caregiving roles involving heavy lifting, manual handling, patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts, and assisting with ADLs.
Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams are crucial for success in this role.
