Position: Delivery Driver / Shipping Support

Pay: Starting $21– $26 per hour
Reports to: General Plant Manager / Shipping Supervisor
Continental Gourmet Sausage is seeking a dependable delivery driver to transport refrigerated food products to our wholesale customers throughout Southern California. This position requires safe driving, punctual deliveries, accurate order handling, and courteous customer service.
Responsibilities
- Deliver products safely and on time using a company vehicle.
- Verify products, quantities, and invoices before loading and at each delivery.
- Load, secure, and unload orders carefully to prevent damage.
- Follow company food-handling and temperature-control procedures to maintain the cold chain.
- Obtain delivery signatures and collect payments when instructed.
- Communicate delays, shortages, returns, vehicle concerns, and customer requests promptly.
- Complete daily vehicle inspections and maintain accurate delivery, mileage, and temperature records.
- Keep the vehicle clean, organized, and sanitary.
- Follow traffic laws, parking rules, and company safety procedures.
- Assist with picking orders, packing, shipping, receiving, and organizing cooler or freezer inventory as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for the assigned company vehicle.
- Driving record that meets company insurance requirements.
- Previous delivery or route-driving experience preferred; food distribution experience is a plus.
- Ability to navigate Southern California routes and use GPS.
- Ability to read invoices, verify quantities, and complete delivery paperwork accurately.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and professional customer service.
- Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with customers and coworkers.
- Willingness to work early mornings and occasional overtime as needed.
- English/Spanish bilingual skills are a plus.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
The position involves frequent driving, standing, walking, bending, and loading or unloading products. Work includes entering refrigerated and freezer areas and making deliveries in varying weather conditions. Candidates must be able to perform the essential duties, with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting and moving up to [50 pounds—confirm actual requirement] and using hand trucks or other handling equipment.
