Country decor for a camp or a home out west. Gillinder and Sons made this footed-glass compote in 1879. The Westward Ho Pioneer pattern refers to the etching reliefs on the bowl of the settler's cabin and running deer and buffalo. Measures 8" diameter x 8" height. In excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The Westward Ho compote (originally named "Pioneer") is often called "Tippecanoe" due to its thematic connection to 19th-century American westward expansion and a 1878 glass pattern produced by Gillinder & Sons.
Offers welcome.
