Looking for an experienced tile installer, bathroom remodeler, or skilled shower renovation crew to complete a custom walk-in shower renovation.
This project involves demolition, shower floor construction, waterproofing, installation of large-format porcelain tile, a recessed shower niche, and a TRUE CURBLESS / ZERO-ENTRY SHOWER WITH A LINEAR DRAIN.
The finished shower should have a modern, upscale appearance similar to the attached reference photos.
This is NOT simply a tile installation job. Applicants must have experience constructing complete custom showers, including properly waterproofed shower floors and large-format tile installation.
🔨 SCOPE OF WORK
1. Demolition & Preparation
- Remove existing shower wall tile, backer board, and shower floor as necessary.
- Prepare shower walls and floor for new installation.
- Remove and clean up demolition debris.
2. TRUE Curbless / Zero-Entry Shower Floor
- Construct a completely curbless shower with NO raised curb, threshold, or step-up at the entrance.
- Shower floor must transition flush with the adjoining bathroom floor.
- Existing concrete slab may need to be cut, recessed, lowered, or otherwise modified to accommodate the required shower slope and linear drain.
- Properly slope the shower floor toward the linear drain to ensure water drains correctly.
- Install and integrate the linear drain with the shower pan waterproofing system.
- Ensure the finished shower has proper drainage without standing water.
IMPORTANT: Must understand that this is a TRUE ZERO-ENTRY SHOWER. Simply building a raised shower pan or installing a low-profile curb is NOT acceptable.
3. Durock Backer Board & Waterproofing
- Install new Durock cement backer board on shower walls.
- Properly tape and treat seams and corners.
- Apply RedGard or another approved waterproofing system.
- Properly waterproof the entire shower, including walls, floor, corners, niche, and plumbing penetrations.
- Ensure shower floor waterproofing is properly integrated with the linear drain using a compatible waterproofing system.
- Perform a shower pan flood test before tile installation.
4. Large-Format Tile Installation
- Install large-format porcelain tile (approximately 24" × 48" or similar) on shower walls.
- Professional tile layout with straight lines, minimal lippage, and consistent grout joints.
- Properly cut and install tile around plumbing fixtures, corners, and shower niche.
- Install appropriate shower floor mosaic tile.
- Install Schluter or similar edge trim where needed.
- Complete all grouting, caulking, and finishing work.
5. Recessed Shower Niche
- Construct one recessed shower niche.
- Properly waterproof the entire niche.
- Tile the niche with clean, professional edges and trim.
- Properly slope the bottom shelf for drainage.
6. Shower Plumbing – OPTIONAL SEPARATE PRICE
If you are experienced and capable of performing the plumbing work, please provide a SEPARATE PRICE for:
- Remove existing shower valve/diverter.
- Install new shower mixing valve and diverter.
- Install new shower fixtures, including shower head and handheld sprayer.
- Make any necessary adjustments to shower supply lines.
- Install and connect the new linear drain to the existing drain plumbing.
- Make any necessary drain modifications required for the curbless shower.
If you do not perform plumbing, that is fine. Please indicate that plumbing is excluded from your quote.

- Extensive experience with custom shower renovations.
- Must have experience constructing TRUE curbless / zero-entry showers.
- Experience with concrete slab modifications and recessed shower floors.
- Strong understanding of waterproofing systems and linear drain integration.
- Experience installing large-format porcelain tile.
- Must have all necessary tools and equipment.
- Reliable transportation.
- Must produce clean, professional workmanship.
- Must be dependable and able to complete the project from start to finish.
- References are a plus.
💰 PRICING – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
I am looking for ONE COMPLETE LABOR-ONLY PRICE covering all the shower renovation work described above, excluding plumbing.
Please DO NOT break down or separately price demolition, shower floor construction, waterproofing, niche installation, or tile installation.
All of these items should be included in ONE TOTAL LABOR-ONLY PROJECT PRICE.
The ONLY item that should be quoted separately is the optional plumbing work, if you are capable of performing it.
