$1,350 a month for a 3-bedroom, 2-bath house. Not a 1-bedroom with a den. Not a shared hallway. A 2006 Clayton Waycross with 1,216 square feet, your own front door, a driveway, and a yard at Hidden Oaks.
Keys, not a lease on somebody else's floor plan. Taupe siding, black shutters, white skirting, a bay window on the end, and grass on both sides of the drive. You pull in, you park, you walk to your own stair. That is the difference the first week.
Inside, it is open and already cleaned out. Wood-look vinyl through the living room and kitchen. Gray walls, white trim, ceiling fans, and a wall of windows with blinds. The front door opens into the living room, so you see the space before you see a closet. Sofa, TV, and a table all fit without the room feeling borrowed.
The kitchen is the part apartments do not give you. White cabinets, light counters, a peninsula you can sit at, and black appliances: range, dishwasher, and a full-size refrigerator. Stacked wall oven and microwave. Range hood. Double sink under the window. Tall pantry cabinet. You can cook and still talk to whoever is on the couch.
Three real bedrooms. The primary has carpet, a ceiling fan, a window, and its own bath, off the living area so it stays separate. The other two are down the hall, each with carpet, a fan, a window, and a closet. Kids, a roommate, a guest room, or an office. Wire shelving. White doors. Split enough that nobody is walking through the primary to get to the bathroom.
The primary bath is why this rents. Corner garden tub with a brick-look surround and a window. Double vanity, two sinks, two mirrors. Separate walk-in shower with a glass door. The hall bath covers the other bedrooms, so mornings do not pile up in one room.
Laundry stays in the house. Utility closet with the water shutoff and shelf space for the washer and dryer. No laundry building. No quarters. No walk across the community in the rain.
Outside is a driveway, a yard, and shade.
