This listing is for a beautiful Smith Corona Silent with a new platen. This machine has the serial number: 3S 95695 putting it as made in 1941. The color on the machine is the more uncommon grayish brown and is quite striking in person. This machine types in 12 characters per inch or elite.
The machine is coming from my personal collection. Machine was taken apart, cleaned, tested, reassembled, and tested again. The platen was done by JJ Short in 2026. Even the tab stop clips are all there and this machine performs really well. A bit looser and lighter then its 5 series counterpart, but this machine is a joy to use. I am selling it as I have too many machines and this one just didn't get enough attention.
