YC Cable USA, Inc., a dynamic, rapidly expanding international cable assembly manufacturer locate in Fremont CA, seeks the following:
QA Lead - Wire & Cable Harness Manufacturing
Job Summary
The QA Lead is responsible for daily inspection and testing to ensure wire harnesses and cable assemblies meet drawings, customer requirements, and IPC/WHMA-A-620 workmanship standards. Guide QA inspectors, resolve quality issues, and maintain inspection records.
• Inspection: Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspections of cables, harnesses, and components.
• Workmanship: Verify crimping, soldering, stripping, connector assembly, labeling, and routing.
• Testing: Oversee continuity, shorts, pinout, insulation resistance (when required), crimp-height, and pull-force tests.
• Team Leadership: Assign work, train inspectors, monitor quality and productivity, and support schedules.
• Nonconformance: Control rejected material; manage NCRs, root cause analysis, CAPA, and 8D actions.
• Records & Compliance: Maintain inspection/test reports, FAI, traceability, and ISO 9001 records.
• Production Support: Coordinate with Engineering and Production on drawing issues, ECOs, and quality concerns.
Improvement & Equipment: Track defects and rework, prevent repeat issues, and verify equipment calibration.
Requirements
• 3–5 years of QA inspection experience in wire harness, cable assembly, or electronics manufacturing; lead experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620; certification preferred.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and work instructions.
• Hands-on use of electrical testers, crimp inspection tools, pull testers, and precision measuring equipment.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, NCR, CAPA, 8D, FAI, and AQL; proficient in Excel and Word.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Occasionally able to lift 40lbs if required.
