CalWest Manufacturing in Fontana is hiring an experienced CNC machinist who can take a job from print to finished part: program it, set it up, prove it out, inspect it and run it. Most of our work is aerospace and defense.
Our machines:
- Haas VF-10, VF-11 and VF-4SS vertical mills
- Haas SL-30 lathe
- Doosan 5-axis machining center
- Doosan lathe with live tooling
What you'll do:
- Program parts in CAM and edit G-code at the control
- Build fixtures and set up new jobs: work offsets, tools, probing
- Prove out first parts and run production
- Inspect your own work to the print, including first article
What you need:
- 5+ years as a CNC machinist who programs, sets up and runs
- Mill and lathe experience; 5-axis or live tooling strongly preferred
- Aerospace or defense parts, tight tolerances, GD&T
- Comfortable with AS9100 shop paperwork and first article inspection
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident (ITAR work)
Pay: $35-$45/hr, based on experience. Full time, day shift, Monday through Friday. Medical, 401(k) and paid time off.
