Local Flagstaff trucking company is looking for PT Class A CDL Truck Driver immediately. This is a PT position if you are looking to make some extra money while staying local. Most of our loads are Phoenix-NM and relay in Flagstaff. The local work that we have that we need PT driver for are:
Flagstaff-Phoenix: Broker loads usually DH Flagstaff to Phoenix area, load and return. We run 7 days a week. Start time usually between 1400-1700. We pay $0.75/mi with 2 hours load time included in rate. Most loads are about an hour. Loads are usually scheduled within a few days, but I may not have driver assignments until the day before. Just give me your availability and I will be able to get you several shifts per week. Approximately 300 miles (7-8 hours) per trip depending on shipping location.
Flagstaff-NM for relief. We have occasional need for relief for broker loads if our regularly scheduled drivers need a day off. They are pre-loaded in Phoenix and delivered to Farmington or Albuquerque, NM then DH back to Flagstaff. Start time usually between 2200-0400 for am deliveries in NM. Unload time varies, but usually 1-2 hours. Approximately 600 miles (11-12 hours) per trip depending on delivery location.
We have occasional other trips to locations within a 300 mi radius of Flagstaff, always same day trips, nothing exceeding a 14 hour shift. All trips are no-touch or drop/hook.
All trips run a lease maintained 2020 Freightliner Cascadia day cab (automatic).
All runs originate and terminate in Flagstaff.
W-2 position, mileage pay only, no additional benefits. Detention/layover paid per broker rate after 2 hours of load/unload time. Phoenix trips run under short haul exception and are not on ELD logs, but all trucks are tracked via Motive and have forward facing dash cams. Any trip longer than 150 miles one way will be required to run ELD logs through Motive.
Must have relatively clean 5 year driving record and clean drug screen/clearinghouse. Minimum 2 years CDL experience (can be 1 year if no accidents/tickets within 5 years) per our insurance requirements.
There is no required scheduled availability on your side and no guarantee of hours on ours. If you want to be available on a specific day and we have work, then we'll book you on. If we need a driver on a specific day and call you, you can say yes or no. We just need a backup driver that is safe and reliable once you commit to a shift. This would be perfect for a retiree looking for some miles on their terms or if you have another job but want some extra hours.
