About 1913 Herschell Spillman started making carousel horses and became the best at his craft and world famous for his beautiful designs. This is a rare 1940's mid-century horse by Spillman and an unusual one. He had experimented in making wooden horses with aluminum extremities and later this, "The Little Beauty", an all-aluminum horse. This is one of his famous horses in wonderful condition and ready to enjoy with its old paint and original leather or to refurbish to your taste. Many of these were destroyed in WWII, as the aluminum was melted for the war effort. This horse is a heavy one and comes with a sturdy stand for display. Horse about 45" long.
