I’m Bob Smith. After nursing my severely mentally ill roommate back from the brink of death, he still ended up getting evicted. He’d lost his life savings to Trump Coin, then crumbled. As the ‘no rights co-tenant’, I’m losing the home I thought I would die in.
The Sheriff shows up November 18th!
So I am looking for a week-to-week or month-to-month as I apply for San Francisco's Senior Citizen Housing Lotteries. A few months I would think. I need it for the 18th! End of month latest.
What follows is the full pitch I made to be a potential roommate, posted under housing > roommates. For this, it's probably way more than you need but I am trying to get you to trust a stranger:
Until this week, I thought the Landlord was going to transfer the lease to me.
He didn’t. So I have two weeks to find a New Home.
And four at most to hump my belongings to it.
I have nothing in my Life Experience to prepare me for This. Never been here before. So I put my Ad Agency and Web Design skills in pro-active high gear to make the Miracle I need more likely. Haven’t slept in two days, working on this. It is all I can think to do. Tomorrow I’ll start making calls to see what the City can do. I put the work in and rarely ask anything of my World.
So, What am I asking of You:
Ideally, I am looking for a fellow stable San Franciscan(s), Male or Female, who could use a great Roommate for the long term. Since Retiring, I've been a creative hermit in the Studio, creating all the stuff my site's tabs lead to. I can be that kind of Roommate. But I was SF's best Hippie Bus Tourguide and I always wanted to join the Circus or live in a Commune. So I would thrive in a communal environment too. I bring a forest of plants, oil paintings, art collections, a passion for life, and a 17year old, kitten-sized ol' Keddie, who's gonna love you whoever you are. That's just who she is. I plan to do Public Speaking regularly.
Plan B would be a couch to surf or sublet while applying for and awaiting results from SF’s Senior Citizen Housing Lotteries.
A few months at most, I would think.
I make my roommate case on my website referred to below. I apologize in advance for overstating my case, but it’s all I have to earn your trust and respect in the time allowed. Since I’m essentially asking you to trust and put a stranger in your life, I acknowledge the gravity of that ask. I bring no Drama. No Surprises. Be my Miracle. I will never give you reason to regret it.
I'm a University of Chicago Economist and Author who sees the worst economic times of my life just over the Horizon.
40 Trillion Dollars Debt, no money in the account, Bursting AI Bubble while posturing for World War III Times. The Stock Market just this week is setting the stage for crashing the AI Bubble which will crash SF's real estate Bubble.
I propose that my low-end Social Security Check rent payment is the safest long term decision you can make. I can't afford the rents those temporary San Franciscans are driving up, but I am an on-time, hassle-free rent check for a decade or more. I won't get laid off, stock option rich, married, or move back to Texas. Kinda like a Bond versus a Stock :-)
The roommate page on my site makes my case for what I'm saying here.
The tabs at the top of it will take you to the Man I Am.
No Drama. No Surprises. Just a really great Roommate who needs a Home

I have 12 days. Any networking, referrals, or advice you have to offer would be greatly appreciated. I’m open to anything. Pass this along to anyone you think might be interested.
Since my time crunch is so short, My Plan B is to find something month-to-month or even week to week as I apply and wait to hear back from SF's Senior Housing Lotteries. A few months at most, I'm led to believe. If you are reading this, you probably have an open room. I would be November 18th income for you, and you would give me the time to make this search for my final home.
