A busy and established restaurant in Encino is looking for an experienced, friendly, and professional Host/Hostess to join our front-of-house team.
We are looking for someone with previous restaurant hosting experience who is confident speaking with guests and can create a warm and welcoming first impression.
Fluent English is required. Bilingual in Farsi/Persian is preferred.
The ideal candidate is polished, organized, reliable, and comfortable working in a busy restaurant environment.
Responsibilities
Greet guests warmly and professionally as they arrive and leave.
Manage reservations, walk-ins, and waitlists.
Answer incoming phone calls and assist guests with reservations and questions.
Seat guests according to the floor plan and server rotation.
Communicate wait times clearly and professionally.
Monitor table availability and help manage guest flow.
Communicate special requests, large parties, celebrations, and VIP guests to management and servers.
Maintain an organized and clean host stand.
Keep menus, seating charts, and reservation information organized.
Assist guests with questions about the menu, restaurant, hours, and reservations.
Assist with takeout orders when needed.
Communicate effectively with servers, managers, and other team members.
Maintain a professional, positive, and welcoming attitude throughout the shift.
Follow restaurant service standards, policies, and appearance guidelines.
Qualifications
Previous restaurant hostess/host experience required.
Fluent English is required.
Bilingual in Farsi/Persian is preferred.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Warm, friendly, and professional personality.
Able to multitask in a fast-paced restaurant.
Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
Comfortable speaking with guests both in person and over the phone.
Professional appearance and attitude.
Experience with reservations or waitlist systems is a plus.
Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
