Runs great, just sitting for years storing band equipment. Began cleaning out during Covid tuned up, readying for sale... moving must sell and cannot continue. 400/th400/2 captains chairs, 1 electric reclining bed
1. Rebuilt carb by Ernie's in South El Monte - nationally recognized as the best - stock original Rochester Quadra-Jet 4-barrel.
2. Flushed radiator and cooling system, refilled, water pump and hoses checked under heat and pressure testing, no leaks.
3. Original 225/75/R15 on steel rims and dog-dish caps sold, changed to 31/10/LT15 tires on American Racing alloys.
4. New brakes shoes and cylinders installed in the rear; new brake pads bearings and rotors in the front.
5. New rear vent hatch, with electric exhaust fan by switch,
6. Original stock seats/stands sold, converted to 80's plush Contempo Van recliner chairs and matching bench-back seat that folds to a bed by electrical switch.
7. Body has many dings, color was originally fleet white, but is now Bahama Blue. Could use a redo.
8. Has spare tire carrier, spare, and cover.
9. Right rear window is a hinged, vented type the left one is fixed.
10. Interior carpet is original 80's Tijuana-shop blue shag job, needs deep steaming or better-yet, a replacement.
11. Cylinder compression as I tested it was 92, 108, 100, 100, 100, 113, 92, and 96 (#1 through #8.) Minimal oil loss.
12. TurboHydramatic TH-400 automatic transmission shifts perfectly. Tail shaft seal leaks slightly at rest.
13. No radio present, heater and climate controls are electrically functional with good heater core and vent.
14. Ignition keys switch and lock cylinder is new.
15. 400 cubic inch 6.6Litre V8 4-bolt mains engine block, intake and heads cleaned of carbon.
16. New engine plugs and ignition wires installed.
17. Tank has been dropped, cleaned, rubber lead lines replaced and reinstalled.
18. Boxes of original take-off parts, bolts, lugnuts and leftover fasteners I didn't want to throw away.
19. Cables were cleaned, new terminals added and battery currently charged. I occasionaly put a trickle charger on it and drive it around the block, to get gas, and visit the car wash each spring.
20. But it is not currently registered. I have the pink slip which will include a Bill Of Sale.
G20 Van life, with a CA car no rust, good bones to invest in restoration.
The 400ci/TH400 powertrain needs nothing, and is a common rebuild candidate for stroker engine rebuilds.
