This is a wonderful Baldwin Model M (serial# 99464), recently regulated and tuned by master technician Michael Toschak. The finish on this instrument is warm and rich with very light wear for its age, it has been kept away from direct sunlight and presents as like-new.
The bass strings were replaced 8 years ago by Michael making the lower register of the Baldwin warm and robust with acres of sustain and resonance often missing on instruments of this age. The middle range is full of clarity and vibrance, and the high octaves are bright and crystal clear with no trace of harshness or brittleness. The soundboard has no cracks, the ivory keys are warm and inviting to the touch.
The Model M was produced in the early 1950s, the height of American piano manufacturing, and this award winning M-series reflects the very best from Baldwin in this size platform. Records show that this piano was made between 1951-1952.
It's a perfect instrument for an accomplished professional or for the advanced student looking for an upgrade to a grand piano. This piano has been very lightly played since its last service and should go to a home where it can be enjoyed. The original bench is included.
Don't be misled by all the "free" pianos on Craigslist and FBM. I was in the piano tuning/repair field for years and have seen the many problems that free pianos come with. This is my personal instrument and it has been maintained to the highest standard. I simply must let it go now as I moved out of the state to care for my father on the East Coast.
