Job Title: Construction Helper / Mechanical Assembler
Position Type: Full-Time, Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: 50–60 hours per week (Must be available for overtime and weekends)
Pay Rate: $20.00/hour
Job Summary:
We are seeking hard-working, mechanically inclined Construction Helpers to join our industrial installation team. In this role, you will work alongside structural welders and millwrights to assemble, align, and install heavy-duty conveyor systems. If you have a strong work ethic, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and are looking for substantial overtime, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical Assembly: Assist millwrights and structural welders in assembling and positioning conveyor system components and structural frameworks.
Tool Operation: Safely and efficiently utilize basic hand tools and power tools (e.g., wrenches, drills, grinders, impact guns).
Precision Layout: Accurately read a tape measure down to the fraction to assist with alignment, spacing, and material placement.
Material Handling: Move, stage, and prep steel, parts, and equipment for welders and millwrights.
Site Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area, strictly adhering to all site-specific safety protocols.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Experience: Previous experience in construction, industrial maintenance, mechanical assembly, or working as a trade helper is highly preferred.
Certifications: OSHA 10 Construction certification is a big plus.
Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical inclination with a solid understanding of how things go together.
Tool & Measurement Proficiency: Proven ability to accurately use a tape measure and operate basic hand/power tools safely.
Availability: Must be able to consistently work 50 to 60 hours per week, including mandatory weekend shifts.
Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, bend, kneel, and work in an industrial construction environment for extended periods.
Reliability: Dependable transportation and a strong track record of excellent attendance.
