Bonus Compensation
The annual expectation for this position is 1,800 collected qualified billable hours.
An attorney who exceeds 1,800 collected qualified billable hours during the calendar year will be eligible for a productivity bonus. For each collected qualified billable hour in excess of 1,800 hours, the attorney will earn 30% of the amount billed to and collected from the client for that hour.
For purposes of this bonus, only collected qualified billable hours—as defined by the Firm's billing policies—will be counted toward eligibility. Bonus calculations will be based solely on fees actually collected by the Firm for qualifying billable work and will be paid in accordance with the Firm's bonus payment practices.
Collected Qualified Billable Hours Definition
At the end of each month, associate attorneys submit their billable hours for review. The Managing Partner then evaluates the work performed for each client and, when appropriate, exercises billing judgment by reducing the number of billable hours credited to avoid overbilling and ensure that clients are billed only for reasonable and necessary time.
The billable hours approved by the Managing Partner and included on a client invoice are considered Qualified Billable Hours.
Qualified Billable Hours become Collected Qualified Billable Hours only after the client has paid the applicable QuickBooks invoice in full. For purposes of this policy, an invoice is considered paid in full only when the client has paid the entire invoiced amount, including all legal fees, attorney fees, costs, expenses, and any other charges reflected on the QuickBooks invoice. Until the full invoiced amount has been received by the firm, none of the Qualified Billable Hours included on that invoice shall be considered Collected Qualified Billable Hours.
