4 issues of L'Eclipse, a celebrated French satirical journal. These are issues from 1869, the journal's second year of publication. Each issue boasted a full page, hand colored drawing by the caricaturist André Gill, and three text pages with news, satire and/or small cartoons.
The journal is celebrated for the brio of its illustrations. Size is 13x17", the paper in very good condition. Some small tears, or an issue split at the fold, not affecting the image. Text in French of course, but issues of L'Eclipse are sought after for their images.

$40 for the four, cash only.
