About the Exchange:
An 82-year-old woman who uses a wheelchair for mobility is offering a completely free bedroom, including all utilities and high-speed internet, in exchange for an overnight roommate presence. Because her dedicated IHSS caregivers completely cover her morning and evening shifts (including all heavy lifting, transfers, meals, and housekeeping), your days are 100% free for classes, studying, or an outside job.
This position is ideal for a responsible, quiet, and dependable individual—such as a UC Davis graduate student, nursing/pre-med student, or working professional—looking to eliminate housing expenses while helping a sweet local senior stay safe in her home.
The Overnight Role:
You are simply required to sleep at the house overnight and be available to assist with minor, low-effort tasks if she wakes up.
Frequency: Typically 2 to 3 times per night.
Tasks Include: Getting a glass of water, picking up a dropped remote control, adjusting blankets, or minor comfort tasks.
Note: No heavy lifting, Hoyer lift operation, transfers, or medical care are required for this overnight role.
