My name is Dmitriy. I was a math professor and recently moved to the US. I teach all levels of university, college, and high school mathematics, as well as advanced, non-standard problems focusing on mathematical reasoning.
A little about my background: I have over 20 years of university-level teaching and research experience across Kazakhstan, Russia, and the UK.

My Teaching Philosophy:
With the rise of AI, traditional learning methods based on simple memorization and repetitive drilling are becoming obsolete. While AI achievements are impressive, AI lacks true understanding of what it is doing. Therefore, formulating models, interpreting mathematical results, and critical evaluation remain fundamental human tasks. Under any scenario, mathematical education must cultivate those intellectual skills that cannot be automated.
In the age of AI, students should develop imagination, physical intuition, and MATHEMATICAL REASONING. They must learn to construct abstract representations, think logically, invent, explore, and formalize their ideas. Mathematics and physics are particularly well-suited for fostering these core abilities.
My Approach:
To build these skills, I draw upon the rich traditions of the Russian school of mathematics, fostering critical thinking through the Socratic method and active dialogue rather than passive listening. My courses are built around non-standard problems that train flexible reasoning and deep mathematical intuition.
