Laurel makes an outstanding tall evergreen hedge. It has glossy dark highly ornamental leaves that remain green throughout winter. In spring Laurel has fragrant white flowers rising above the foliage. It grows quickly, averaging 2 feet or more per year, depending on location and planting conditions. Laurel grows in full sun to dense shade and tolerates poor soil, wind, and salt spray. It is deer resistant, and drought tolerant when established. These laurel bushes have been grown from seed and are an excellent choice for an attractive fast-growing and trouble-free dense privacy hedge. Prunus laurocerasus USDA Zones 6 - 9.
