HARDY CHICAGO – Mid-season ripening (August to October) Described as having a unique strawberry/blueberry flavor combo, Hardy Chicago figs are rich and very sweet – fresh or dried. The cold-hardy tree bears fruit on each year’s new growth, so produces fruit even after cold winters. Once established, this dependable fig tree is heat and drought tolerant. Hardy Chicago fig trees mature about 10 to 15 feet tall. Ficus carica ‘Chicago Hardy’ USDA Zones 5-9
PETITE NEGRA - Early ripening (mid-July to Sept.) The “Little Black Fig’ is an easy-to-grow tree for a small backyard, patio, balcony, deck, or indoors. It stays about 2 to 3 feet tall in a container and about 4 to 6 feet in the ground. The fruit inside this black fig is deep red, juicy & sweet, with a hint of raspberry/berry flavors. ITALIAN HONEY FIGS (Also named Oregon Prolific) – Early/Mid ripening (late July to Aug.) Exceptionally sweet, named for its ‘honey-like flavor’ this thin-skin fig is delicious eaten freshly picked. The skin is light yellow/green fruit inside is a pretty amber color. The tree grows 8 to 12 feet tall in the ground, about 4 to 6 feet tall in a container. Once established, Italian Honey Fig is drought tolerant and will produce fruit even in areas with short growing seasons. Ficus carica ‘Lattarula’ USDA Zones 7 – 10
