Most of the pieces bear the marking "Pope-Gosser china, Made in USA, Ivanhoe, Warranted Coin Gold," but several of the pieces bear the marking of "I-26" which we have learned is not a pattern number but rather a code indicating the semi-vitreous porcelain blank shape or production run before the decorative elements, in the this case the coin yellow gold band, were applied. The pieces all have the same banding.
Company background: Pope-Gosser china was manufactured in Coshocton, Ohio, in the United States. The Pope-Gosser China Company operated its manufacturing plant there from 1902 until the factory permanently closed in 1958. Founded in 1902 by master potter I. Bentley Pope and jeweler Charles F. Gosser.
