This is for one pair of Adcom GFA-565 Monoblock Amplifiers and both have been completely refurbished. The amplifiers also have consecutive serial numbers. Chances are, if you are looking at this listing then you know what these but for the sake of thoroughness, here are some basic specs: 300W into 8 Ohms, 450W into 4 Ohms, 850W into 2 Ohms. I have included a screenshot of more specs from the Adcom manual.
These amplifiers were purchased from the original owner with the common electrolytic capacitors physically leaking. It tends to saturate the fiberglass circuit boards and some will argue that they are able to clean the boards and remove what has saturated the substrate. These amplifiers have the first class solution. The input boards have been completely replaced with all new boards that exceed the original boards in quality. I have saved both original boards and they will be included.
On the Soft Start boards, all new electrolytic capacitors were installed. (Panasonic or Nichicon) The main soft start ceramic resistor is a little undersized and tends to cook itself so those were replaced in both amps with the aluminum can type in a higher wattage which will ensure long term reliability.
For the Power Supply, the bridge rectifiers were changed to soft recovery types. One of the main filter caps was found to be out of spec so all four were replaced with Chemi-Con 39,000 uF 100V. I saved the original Adcom branded capacitors and they will be included. The small circuit boards on top of the main filter capacitors have all new resistors and Wima film capacitors.
The final outboard boards have new electrolytic capacitors, new diodes, new base resistors and any other small signal resistors were replaced. All new driver transistors were installed. The main output devices have all new Keratherm insulator pads.
The original fuses while still functional were replaced for long term reliability with the proper ceramic Littlefuse as originally fitted.
So that about sums up the restoration. Nothing was left unaddressed and everything was done in a first class manner. Both amplifiers are operating perfectly.
Condition:
Physically, the enclosures are in excellent condition with no major scratches or dents and all the lettering on the face is intact. There is one faint scuff mark to the right of the power switch that I've done my best to capture. Also, in the photos you can see the consecutive serial numbers and the internals. If you have any questions about the restoration, don't hesitate to reach out.
