## About the role
We're a local residential builder looking for a reliable, detail-oriented person to check on a small new-construction job in west Columbus. You'll be our eyes on site at key points in the build: before and after concrete pours, when trades start and finish, and on inspection days. Visits are usually 30–60 minutes, scheduled in advance, with flexible timing within the day.
## What you'll do
- Visit the site at scheduled milestones and take clear photos from set angles
- Walk a short checklist (e.g., forms and rebar in place, concrete covered and protected in cold weather, materials delivered and secured, site cleaned up and locked)
- Compare what you see against the drawings and flag anything that looks off
- Send a quick report by text or email the same day
- Occasionally meet a sub or city inspector on site
## What we're looking for
- Background in residential construction, building, or inspection (retired builders, superintendents, and home inspectors are especially welcome)
- Comfortable reading basic construction drawings
- Reliable transportation and a smartphone
- Lives in or near west Columbus, Franklinton, or Hilltop
- Dependable: shows up when scheduled and reports honestly
## Details
- Paid hourly with a 1-hour minimum per visit
- Roughly 20–30 visits over the build, typically 1–3 per week
- Independent contractor (1099)
- No tools or labor required
