Schedule: Part-time, with additional hours available for occasional projects
We are looking for a dependable person to provide meticulous cleaning and basic maintenance.
Must be able to use basic tools. Examples include:
A) mixing paint and cement
B) removing old carpet tiles
C) removing broken brick mortar for tuckpointing
D) mowing grass and snow removal
This position requires you to have strong physical strength and is only appropriate for the physically fit.
Responsibilities:
- Clean offices, hallways, restrooms, entrances, and common areas
- Vacuum carpets and clean hard-surface floors
- Empty trash and keep cleaning and maintenance areas organized
- Clean windows, doors, walls, and other building surfaces
- Change light bulbs and perform minor painting and touch-ups
- Complete simple tasks such as patching walls, tightening hardware, and making basic repairs
- Keep sidewalks, entrances, and exterior areas clean and presentable
- Check the building for burned-out lights, leaks, damage, or safety concerns
- Report problems that require an experienced or licensed contractor
- Maintain an organized inventory of cleaning supplies, maintenance materials, tools, keys, and building items
- Identify supplies that need to be reordered and maintain simple inventory records
- Organize storage rooms, utility areas, and vacant rental spaces
- Take before-and-after photographs and provide brief reports of completed work
- Keep clear records of hours, supplies used, purchases, and work performed
- Occasionally communicate with tenants and provide contractors with building access
- Show available offices or rental spaces to prospective tenants and provide basic information about the property
Ideal Candidate:
- Has experience in professional cleaning, property upkeep, maintenance, inventory management, or general handyman work
- Can perform basic tasks such as changing light bulbs, painting, patching walls, tightening hardware, and completing minor repairs
- Is highly organized and able to maintain accurate inventory and work records
- Is personable and comfortable showing rental spaces to prospective tenants
- Communicates professionally with tenants, applicants, contractors, and building personnel
- Is dependable and capable of working independently
- Is comfortable using a smartphone for photographs, messages, record keeping, and timekeeping
- Has reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Can safely lift and move ordinary cleaning supplies and equipment
This is a supplemental part-time position intended to provide additional cleaning, organization, and basic building support. Specialized electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other licensed work will be handled by qualified contractors.
