The cart does not generate its own heat or refrigeration while standalone.( I do not have the docking station )Instead, it is designed to mate directly with a Convect-Rite docking station.Dual-Zone Holding: When docked, the system uses directed airflow technology to simultaneously circulate hot air around entrees while maintaining forced convection cold air refrigeration on the opposite side of the same tray.
