MetroBin Dumpsters is a new local dumpster rental company serving Columbia, Howard County, and surrounding areas. We are looking for an experienced CDL-A owner-operator interested in occasional local side work delivering and retrieving roll-off/dumpster containers.
This is initially an on-call, per-job opportunity and is ideal for an experienced driver who already has a full-time driving job, owner-operator business, or flexible schedule and wants additional local work.
What the work involves
Pick up an empty roll-off/dumpster container
Deliver and safely place the container at a residential or contractor job site
Return when the rental period is complete
Load the filled container
Transport it to the designated landfill/disposal facility
Dump the material
Return the empty container to the designated storage location or next job
Most jobs will be located in Howard County and nearby Central Maryland communities.
Compensation
$200–$275 per completed local service cycle, depending on distance, equipment, and job requirements.
A completed cycle generally includes the initial delivery and the later pickup/disposal/return.
Disposal/tipping fees are paid or reimbursed separately by MetroBin and are not deducted from driver compensation.
Additional compensation may apply for extra stops, container swaps, extended landfill wait times, or jobs outside the normal service area.
Schedule
This is not currently a full-time position. Jobs will be scheduled as customer demand develops.
We are especially interested in drivers available:
Early weekday mornings
After 5 PM when practical
Saturdays
Occasional Sundays
Requirements
Valid Class A CDL
Clean driving record
Previous experience towing heavy gooseneck, roll-off, dump, equipment, or similar trailers
Strong backing and maneuvering skills, including residential driveways
Own suitable 3/4-ton or 1-ton truck capable of safely and legally towing the assigned equipment
Appropriate gooseneck/fifth-wheel equipment as required
Current commercial auto insurance
Reliable communication and punctuality
Ability to perform basic trailer pre-trip inspections
Experience with electric trailer brakes and brake controllers
Roll-off dumpster experience is strongly preferred, but experienced equipment/gooseneck operators who are willing to learn the specific roll-off system are encouraged to apply.
