We are seeking an experienced carpenter with strong skills in finish carpentry, trim work, and cabinet installation, along with the ability to perform light framing. This position requires someone who can work independently, understand the intended finished result, and produce precise, professional work in existing homes.
The ideal candidate takes pride in the details and knows how to adapt installations to older homes where walls, floors, and ceilings may be uneven or out of square.
Key Responsibilities
Cabinet installation: Lay out and install kitchen and bath cabinetry, vanities, fillers, finished panels, crown molding, toe kicks, and cabinet hardware. Level, shim, securely fasten, and adjust cabinets, doors, and drawers.
Finish and trim carpentry: Install baseboards, door and window casing, crown molding, interior doors, shelving, built-ins, and other architectural details. Produce clean joints, accurate reveals, and consistent finishes.
Light framing: Frame or modify non-load-bearing partitions, soffits, and similar assemblies; install blocking and backing for cabinetry, fixtures, and accessories.
Remodeling work: Carefully remove existing materials, protect items designated for reuse, and complete associated carpentry repairs and punch-list work.
Read and follow plans, cabinet layouts, specifications, and installation instructions.
Verify field measurements and site conditions before cutting or installing materials. Identify discrepancies and coordinate solutions with the foreman or project manager.
Coordinate work with other crew members and trades to support the project schedule.
Protect clients’ homes, belongings, and completed work. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.
Communicate progress, material needs, and issues promptly.
